POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize NetSuite ERP to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and trial balances
- Record day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring they are accurate and in compliance with accounting standards
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement)
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payment to vendors and suppliers
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data
- Manage and monitor inventory accounting functions in NetSuite, including inventory valuation, cost accounting, and adjustments
- Coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams to ensure accurate reconciliation between physical inventory and NetSuite records
- Assist with system improvements and optimization projects related to NetSuite and inventory management processes
- Modify NetSuite to meet specific business needs, while being mindful of accounting practices, internal controls and accurate reporting
- Assist with troubleshooting any issues that arise in NetSuite and continue to develop modules
- Any other duties assigned relating to the job role
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Proficiency in NetSuite ERP, particularly in financial modules and inventory management functionalities
- Prior experience in managing inventory accounting processes, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with large volumes of financial data
- Solid understanding of tax laws, accounting regulations, and financial reporting requirements
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments
