Guyana Shore Base Inc. (GYSBI) recently participated in the Ministry of Labour’s Annual Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Walk, joining hundreds of workers and representatives from across the public and private sectors in a strong show of support for workplace safety.
This year’s walk was held under the theme: “Revolutionising Health and Safety: The Role of AI and Digitalisation at Work”, the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) OSH Month focus, highlighting the evolving role of technology in creating safer, more efficient work environments.
It brought together participants from a wide cross-section of agencies, including the Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Health, the Maritime Department, Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC), and the National Insurance Scheme (NIS). Corporate and private sector support was equally strong, with representatives from GYSBI, ExxonMobil, MACORP, SBM Offshore, etc.
